Learn the art of English or Western horsemanship and ride, groom, saddle and control your horse at a walk, trot and canter.  Orland Hills Recreation Department, in conjunction with Forest View Farms, is offering a five (5) week lesson package or five (5) trail rides through the beautiful Cook County Forest Preserve.  Beginners through Advanced are welcome.  Forest View Farms has a heated indoor arena for year round riding.  This package rate can only be purchased twice in a calendar year.  Register at the Community Center, call the stable to arrange classes and bring your receipt to the first lesson.  Helmet rental $1 per class.

The talents of the South Suburban Tennis Academy, underthe direction of United States Professional Tennis Association certified tennis professional Andy Ventress. Mr. Ventress will conduct the popular indoor tennis program for children ages 10 and under and youth tennis for ages 11 to 14, using the USTA format featuring age appropriate equipment. Loaner racquets will be available and each participant will receive a free t-shirt.

Health Club

The Orland Hills Recreation Department is proud to announce the usage of Consolidated High School District 230 Fitness Centers. Membershiop will provide Orland Hills residents access to all three District 230 Fitness Center facilities: Victor J Andrew, Carl Sandburg and Amos Alonzo Stagg. Follow the indoor track around the Community Center’s state of the art gymnasium. 15.4 laps around the walking track is one mile. Walking is available for members of the walking club on Mon/Wed/Fri from 8am - 10am. General walking is also available for residents on Thursday from 7:30pm - 8:30pm and on Saturday from 9am - 10am for no charge.

Open Gym

A recreational activity for men, women and children who enjoy basketball or volleyball as a form of working out and exercise. Pickup games will be played depending on the number of participants attending each time. Participants should bring their own basketball or volleyball and must carry in playing shoes. Please not sessions are divided into family/teen/adult times. Children under 12 must be accomplied by an adult. There is a $1.00 fee for residents. Resident families are $2.00. A non-resident child (12 & under) fee is $5. A non-resident adult fee is $10.

Giddy up, lil' buckaroos! This program will teach pony lovers how to ride and care for a real live pony. Orland Hills Recreation Dept, in conjunction with Forest View Farms, is offering a package of 5 pony riding lessons. the classes are small with fun instructors and a heated indoor arena for year round riding. This package rate can only be purchased twice in a calendar year. Register at the Community Center. Call the stable to arrange class and bring your reciept to the first lesson.
