Adult Winter Programs

A 16” Co-Ed softball eight week league with playoffs. Cash awards for first and second overall league standings and for playoffs. Fielding gloves are optional for women. Field lighting, umpires and softballs are included. $200 deposit is due on February 6th.

Come join us and learn First Aid, CPR and how to properly use an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED). You will be taught the proper techniques of breathing, compressions, along with cardiac emergency situations. The class will be instructed by the Orland Fire Protection District. Candidates will receive a Certificate of Completion.

Learn the art of English or Western horsemanship and ride, groom, saddle and control your horse at a walk, trot and canter. Orland Hills Recreation Department, in conjunction with Forest View Farms, is offering a five (5) week lesson package or five (5) trail rides through the beautiful Cook County Forest Preserve. Beginners through Advanced are welcome. Forest View Farms has a heated indoor arena for year round riding. This package rate can only be purchased twice in a calendar year. Register at the Community Center, call the stable to arrange classes and bring your receipt to the first lesson. Helmet rental $1 per class.

This program is an organized indoor volleyball league for women. The league is designed for teams that have knowledge of the rules and know how to execute their volleyball skills. The league will consist of a weekly schedule with playoffs. Cash awards for 1st & 2nd place. No Class July 4th. $200 deposit due by Feb 6th.

Mr. Frank Sanchez will be providing students with exceptional knowledge and expertise in drawing and oil painting. Classes are continuous and will consist of four–one hour sessions. Students will learn various styles of drawing and oil painting. Basic mixing, technique, brush handling, brush up and patterning is also included.

Paint a seasonal picture! You’ll learn to draw accurately before you begin your step-by-step paintings. Projects include a 16x20 oil painting picture of your choice. Each session features a different picture.

This recreational “B” Division is for teams that understand volleyball rules and want to have fun. Organized and experienced teams welcome. Cash awards presented to first two places in each division. Referees are provided.

Bingo is held every Monday at the Orland Hills Community Center located at 16553 S. Haven Avenue. Come join the fun with our lively group of current members and become part of the Orland Hills Senior Club. This popular social opportunity offers seniors a place to gather and make new friends. This program focuses on not only bingo, but important informational topics, fitness and special events. Stop by any Monday and enjoy some bingo with us for your complimentary coffee and tea and a possible cash prize if you’re the lucky winner!

Take an afternoon off from cooking and enjoy a catered lunch. Spend an afternoon with your “Club” friends, play some bingo and enjoy a buffet lunch. Five luncheons are held throughout the year. Pre-registration is required the Monday before each luncheon.

Beginners:

Students will learn all that is needed to begin playing games and have FUN with the greatest growing sport, PICKLEBALL.

Advanced Beginners:

Students have experience playing games, understand the scoring system and the basic rules and strategy for PICKLEBALL. Advanced shots and techniques such as 3rd shot drops, poaching, and stacking will be introduced. Lessons will be directed by South Suburban Tennis and Pickleball Academy certified professional, Andy Ventress and staff. Each lesson will include instruction, drill and play. Loaner paddles and balls will be provided.

No class March 30th.

This program is an organized outdoor Wiffle Ball league for Adults. The league is designed for teams that want to participate in an up and coming exciting sport that is a childhood favorite. The league will consist of a weekly schedule and playoffs. A cash award and trophy will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd Place winners. Full team payment is due by April 7th.

Team minimum is 5, team max is 10.
